Jules Verne’s house

Welcome to Jules Verne’s house

Jules Verne lived in this house from 1882 to 1900.

As my wife wished, I settle in Amiens, a levelheaded, polite, even-tempered town, the society is cordial and enlightened. It is close enough to Paris to benefit from its reflection without the insufferable noise and sterile agitation. And, to be honest, my Saint-Michel remains moored at Le Crotoy.
Letter from Jules Verne to his friend Charles Wallut, 1871.

Jules Verne lived 34 years (1871-1905) in Amiens. He was the tenant of the House with the Tower for 18 years, at 2 rue Charles Dubois. This house is now open to the visitors.
